Argentiera is a modern winery set between the coastline and the Mediterranean scrub in the southernmost part of the Bolgheri DOC area and closest to the sea, a stone's throw from the seaside resort of Donoratico. The 80 hectares of vineyards, however, are hilly, because the property extends over the plateau that closes the Bolgheri plain and from there the view towards the sea and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago is wonderful.
The estate is surrounded by olive trees, maritime pines and typical Mediterranean vegetation, which helps to cool the temperatures in summer.
The winery is modern, founded in 1999 and today belongs to the Austrian Stanislaus Turnauer. It was designed with attention to quality production, the grapes that arrive in the cellar fall by gravity into the vats and finally into the underground aging cellar. Here there are over a thousand French oak barriques.
The production range is diversified according to the origin of the grapes, which turn into wines with a distinct personality, made with Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot and Petit verdot.
