J. H. QUENARDEL

Maison J.H. Quenardel was founded in 1906 by Henri Quenardel. Over the years, production has been developed and guaranteed with respect for the environment and family values with the aim of offering rare champagnes with authentic character.

Their estate is divided into numerous parcels between Ludes, Mailly-Champagne, Chigny-les-Roses and Cernay-les-Reims, covering several 'Grand Cru' and 'Premier Cru', where all three grape varieties authorised in the Champagne region (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay) are cultivated, always with sustainable viticulture with HVE and VDC certification.

Quenardel's quality is mainly based on time, inseparable from the Maison's style. Their champagnes remain in contact with their yeast deposits for many years and their slow ageing brings the characteristic finesse and aromatic complexity of Quenardel wines. Three years minimum for non-vintage cuvées, six to eight years patience for vintage cuvées, ten years and more for the largest bottles.

Quenardel is one of the very few Maisons to have adapted the famous technique of ageing Jerez wines to Champagne wines. For over 35 years they have been carrying out three Solera, with a passage in oak casks for the new vintage, before moving on to the perpetual reserve in stainless steel vats. The Solera of the red wine is used in the development of the cuvée Rosé, the Solera Chardonnay is used in the dosage liqueur at the time of draining, and the Solera of the Pinot Noir is used in the blending of the Blanc de Noirs.
