Le Ragnaie is a small estate in Montalcino. The young Riccardo Campinoti and his American wife Jennifer have managed it since 2002, who have also created a delightful farmhouse to host tourists and wine lovers. They work in an artisanal way, with great dedication to taking care of every detail of the production process. They have vines in very high positions and this determines an important advantage from a climatic point of view, given the trend of global warming.
The first Brunello produced by Riccardo is that of the 2003 harvest, released on the market 5 years later, but since the 2007 harvest Le Ragnaie has specialized in producing Brunello - and later also Rosso di Montalcino - from a single vineyard, with the name of the vineyard on the label . In this way Le Ragnaie demonstrates a strong attention to the territory and marries a little interventionist philosophy; the style adopted is traditional, based on the freshness and elegance of Sangiovese with aging in large barrels.
The value of the bottles of Le Ragnaie does not go unnoticed either in Italy or abroad. In all, the estate of Le Ragnaie includes 23 hectares of vineyards located in various areas of Montalcino, all very suitable and conducted with organic farming. The company's headquarters are located near the Lume Spento pass, the highest point of the Montalcino hill with vineyards that exceed 600 meters above sea level.
