Founded in 1874, the Speri winery embodies the history of modern Valpolicella wines. In all these years, the Speri have always defended the link of wine with the territory of origin and were among the first, in the 1970s, to put the name of the vineyard on the label. On the other hand, their Monte Sant’Urbano vineyard in the village of Fumane is one of the most beautiful and suitable in Valpolicella. Several generations have succeeded at the helm of the business, which is always in the hands of the Speri family.

In 1962 they inaugurated a new cellar and since 2015 all the vineyards are managed with certified organic agriculture. Speri is one of the historic producers of the Valpolicella Classica, the original one, where their 60 hectares of vineyards extend in the province of Verona. They cultivate traditional, indigenous varieties, while also preserving some minor vine varieties; their range is limited to typical denominations; they vinify only their own grapes. Consistency and integrity are the hallmarks of their experience and production philosophy. The wines stand out for their elegance and long aging in large barrels. They produce 400,000 bottles annually.
