Vermentino di Sardegna Merì 2023
Merì white wine expresses particular finesse to the nose and taste thanks to the use of cold temperature in every step as a way to preserve the fragrance of grapes’ flavors. It is a Vermentino di Sardegna DOC produced with grapes from the Vigne Vecchie estate in southern Sardinia north of Cagliari. In particular, the vineyards are located on hills with soil made of limestone and marl, which is congenial to obtain fine wines from white grapes.
The harvest is done with particular attention: the grapes are immediately refrigerated as soon as they are harvested, so they are brought to the cellar intact and fresh. Pressing and clarification of the must also take place at a low temperature, so as not to disperse the primary aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16-17 °C. The wine remains in steel until it is bottled.
