The Marzadro distillery was born in the postwar period in Trentino thanks to the initiative of Sabina Marzadro, who had the idea of ​​using the raw material available, the pomace, to make a valuable product, which she could sell to get out of poverty. She understood that in order to succeed in this enterprise she had to focus on quality grappa and she succeeded.
Using mountain herbs, she also elaborated flavored grappas. Marzadro grappas soon acquired a good reputation. In the 1960s, the family business expanded and a new distillery was built. The new generations of the Marzadro family have continued the business that has grown without losing the craftsmanship in the stages of production.
Marzadro has linked its name to Grappa Stravecchia Le Diciotto Lune, the result of the selection of the best Trentino pomace, distilled in the typical discontinuous alembic in a bain-marie and aged for at least 18 months in small barrels of different precious woods.
