List of products by brand Bowmore
Bowmore
Bowmore is the oldest of the 8 distilleries on the island of Islay, located on the west coast of the island washed by the Atlantic Ocean; it stands out because it is one of the few distillers, which independently produces peat malt with the traditional method. It was founded in 1779 and despite many changes of ownership, common to many Scottish distilleries, it never stopped production except during the two world wars. Bowmore belongs to the Japanese Suntory and still works today with traditional techniques, including making malt by spreading the barley on the old stone floors to dry them by burning the peat.
Bowmore ages its whiskeys in a warehouse built in stone below sea level, a unique environment, extremely favorable to the aging process of the distillate. The Bowmore style is appreciated for its complexity and balance, for being able to combine peaty and marine flavors, mineral aromas with fruity ones.
Bowmore whiskies are produced with patience, each phase requires its own time and the quality of the result is recognized by consumers, just think that the Black Bowmore, produced only 5 times since 1993, is one of the most sought after whisky bottles by collectors.
