The name Glarea is derived from Rhaeto-Romanic and means gravel, a clear reference to the particular conformation of the soil from which this wine originates.
Alto Adige Chardonnay “Glarea” comes from vineyards located on the foothills of the Mendola, in the province of Bolzano.
It is a wine made from pure Chardonnay grapes that are pressed and then fermented in wood at a controlled temperature with partial malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place in barriques and tonneaux for a short period to emphasize the aromas yielded by wood.
