APERITIF WINES

THE PERFECT WINE FOR A GLORIOUS TIME

What to drink as an aperitif is not chosen on the basis of the food, but rather as a means to whet the appetite. Aperitif time is a festive moment, a prelude to lunch or dinner. Appetisers such as finger food, canapés, olives and savoury snacks of all kinds are usually served with aperitifs.

So, the function of wine as an aperitif is twofold: to help us relax and to prepare us for the meal to come. So as aperitifs we suggest light wines, either white or rosé, but above all lively or effervescent wines, the very sight of which generates a bubbly<mood.

Aperitif wines are young, fresh whites, or aromatic whites, vinified exclusively in steel to preserve the fragrance of their aromas and freshness of taste. But why not choose a rosé wine as an aperitif? Rosé wines are trendy and aperitifs are a time to be à la mode! Out of the various effervescent wines available, Prosecco and young spumantes, produced using the Martinotti Method, are perfect for aperitifs. If your palate craves something more structured, or if you wish to impress your guests with a high-class product, try a Traditional Method Spumante. Perhaps a blanc de blancs, made exclusively from white grapes. On Moodique, we have excellent Champagne, Franciacorta, Trentodoc and other great labels to choose from for your special aperitif.
