Pinot Bianco 2022
Pinot Blanc has been cultivated in the Collio area of Gorizia since the 19th century when the region produced wines for the courts of the Austrian Empire. Today there isn't much of it left, yet it produces very refined wines. Jermann's Pinot Blanc is produced with grapes grown on the “ponca”, the soil type of the Collio, of the Flysch type, made up of stratified marl and sandstone which also incorporate minerals and limestone. It is a wine produced by the Jermann family since 1974. Jermann is one of the leading producers of the Collio and we recall that his Vintage Tunina white wine was one of the first great Italians of worldwide success.
The Pinot Blanc is harvested in September. The grapes are fermented without skins in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in steel for about 6 months in contact with the fine lees.
