A special occasion is a moment to which we attach a great deal of importance. It might be a meet-up, an annual festivity, the achievement of an important goal. Sometimes the special occasion is actually yourself! So, to ensure that it really is special, it must be accompanied by equally special wines.

For us, a single-cru wine is special, produced only in excellent vintages. With regard to Champagne, the Cuvée Prestige of a Maison is special, but so is a Franciacorta Riserva, if Italian effervescence is more our cup of tea. Memorable vintages or iconic labels are special: Sassiciaia, Solaia, Tignanello, and so on.
