Marqués de Cáceres Reserva is a wine born of the passion and experience of its creators. Based mainly on the Tempranillo grape and enriched with other varieties, this wine reflects the winemaking tradition of La Rioja.
After careful hand harvesting, the grapes are carefully destemmed and fermented at controlled temperatures to best extract their flavour. A long maceration with the skins adds colour and structure to the wine, while malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks adds complexity and harmony.
The wine is matured for 20 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new and half already used, before being bottled. During this period, the wine is racked every 5 months to ensure its purity and clarity.
Features
Colour: brilliant dark ruby red.
perfume: ripe black fruit, notes of milk, coconut and mocha against a background of oak and balsamic hints.
Taste: balanced, voluminous, soft tannins and spicy finish.
Suggestions
Produced only in the best vintages, it has good ageing potential if stored well. It is advisable to uncork it half an hour before serving so as to be able to appreciate all its aromas and flavours to the full.
Recommended with: meat sauce pasta, charcuterie, hams and cold meat.
