Riesling Mezzo Braccio 2020
The Mezzo Braccio is a rich white from several points of view. It is brilliant to the eye; it has a complex smell that ranges from citrus to tropical fruit, passing through flowers, herbs and honey; the taste is soft and energetic, it has a marked crispness and tasty flavor. It is a surprising wine and the shape of the bottle is surprising as well, unusual for a Tuscan wine: it demonstrates the Nordic inspiration of the wine. It is produced with grapes of a German variety: the Rhine Riesling. It is a cold-resistant vine, which can give white wines among the longest-lived, like the great reds. But above all the wines from Rhine Riesling have an original, recognizable personality, based on the tasty acidity. In this case the Riesling grapes come from the hills to the north of Florence.
After the harvest, the wine ferments in steel vats and rests in the cellar for over two years before being put on the market. This long time is essential to develop its aromatic potential and to tame its impetuousness.
