Il Bruciato Bolgheri 2021 Magnum

Loved for its rich and persuasive scent, its soft texture on the palate, its savory taste, Bruciato is probably the most bottled Bolgheri DOC Rosso of all. It was born from a complicated year, namely 2002, cold and rainy. In that year Piero Antinori did not want to produce his important Bolgheri wine which took the name of the estate, Guado al Tasso, as the grapes did not allow to reach the same standards of structure and aging potential as in previous years. With those grapes he therefore decided to produce a simpler wine, with less extraction and less oak-aging. A less complex, more immediate and accessible red wine was created and took the name “Il Bruciato”. Il Bruciato is the wood that flanks the vineyards on the property of Guado al Tasso, which is linked to the popular legend of the bandit Scalabrone who stole from the rich to give to the poor and used to hide in that wood.

It goes without saying that Bolgheri Rosso ll Bruciato was a huge commercial success since its first edition and has since become Bolgheri's best seller. For the wine Il Bruciato Antinori has created a new cellar along the Via Aurelia, modern and tailor-made for the vinification, bottling and storage of this wine, produced in large quantities.

Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are harvested and vinified separately with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature (lower for Merlot and Syarh to retain their aromas) and 15 days of contact with the skins. Maturation takes place in used French barriques for 10 months and at the end the final blend is made.
