Capatosta 2020 IGT
Capatosta has a base of 90 percent Sangiovese and 10 percent Alicante; its vineyards are located in the Baccinello area, soil rich in calcareous clays; the grapes are grown using a spurred cordon system.
The winery uses an organic farming method because it is very attentive to safeguarding the balance between vine and terroir.
The grapes are harvested by hand through the use of crates.
Maceration takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks for 2 weeks, and the wine is aged initially in oak barrels for 15 months and then for another 15 months in bottles.
Capatosta can without a shadow of a doubt be elected as the most representative wine of the Poggio Argentiera winery, since it represents to the fullest all the strengths of Maremma Sangiovese.
