Barolo Bussia 2018
Prunotto's Barolo Bussia, in addition to being a wine of great class, is a historical wine. In fact, Prunotto was the first winery in the Langhe to label the vineyard of origin of the grapes: it was the 1961 Barolo Bussia. That of Bussia is in fact a historic vineyard, one of the best known and loved of all the Langhe and is the largest in the township of Monforte d'Alba. It gives structured and powerful wines, has an ancient soil of calcareous marl and an excellent exposure between south and south-west. The Nebbiolo grapes in the Bussia vineyard meet ideal conditions to ripen perfectly and produce wines destined for long aging. Prunotto's Barolo Bussia every year receives numerous awards from both Italian guides and major international critics.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and subsequently it ages for at least 18 months in large oak barrels.
