Tenute Folonari represents the legacy of a family that was protagonist of the history of Tuscan wine. For a century, the Folonari family owned the historic Ruffino, which was later sold to the Costellation Brands group.
Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, father and son, have decided to focus the business on fine wines and under the banner "Tenute Folonari" they manage the Tenuta di Nozzole and the Tenuta del Cabreo in Chianti, the Fuga winery in Montalcino, Torcalvano winery in Montepulciano and Campo al Mare winery in Bolgheri.
Tenute del Cabreo includes vineyards in two different locations in the municipality of Greve in Chianti: Zano and Panzano. In Zano, Cabernet sauvignon and Sangiovese are mainly grown, while in Panzano Chardonnay and Pinot noir were planted. Tenute del Cabreo’s wines are innovative, made with international grape varieties that in Tuscany have proved to grow very well. Tenute del Cabreo has produced some Supertuscan wines beloved all over the world.
