The Mesa winery today is part of the Santa Margherita Group, but was founded in Sulcis by the advertising Gavino Sanna in 2004.
Sulcis is the extreme south-west of Sardinia, a land strongly conditioned by the winds and the sun, capable of producing wines of great flavor intensity. The production philosophy aims to express the typical wines of the place with modern, precise and punctual interpretations.
The 78 hectares of vineyards are divided into separate plots with different soils, some more sandy and others clayey. The most representative grape varieties are Carignano and Vermentino. The production range, however, includes all the wines of the Sardinian tradition.
Mesa produces 730,000 bottles a year and was awarded as winery of the year by Gambero Rosso in the 2021 Italian Wines guide.
