Ca’ Marcanda is Gaja family’s estate in the wine district of Bolgheri (Tuscany). Angelo Gaja is considered the wine man par excellence in Italy. He made Barbaresco wine known worldwide and he is one of the most authoritative wine producers in Piedmont. But as a great entreoughtpreneur he did not stop there and did not resist the great development of the Bolgheri area. He bought the farm of the Santa Teresa estate along the Via Bolgherese and with a huge investment in 1996 he founded Ca 'Marcanda. The winery, designed by architect Giovanni Bo, is completely underground and integrated with the landscape.

The Ca 'Marcanda vineyards are located in an excellent position immediately below the hills where the prevailing soil is of alluvial origin and abundantly composed of stones. In addition, the temperature range between night and day is very marked in summer, allowing for very elegant wines. The grape varieties grown are obviously the Bordeaux ones, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, but not only. The production style is impeccable and pays homage to the sunshine of the Mediterranean coast with powerful and lustrous wines.
