Trentanni 2021 Umbria Rosso
A perfectly divided blend of Sangiovese 50 percent and Merlot 50 percent, grown by spurred cordon, in Montecchio, on sedimentary, clay soil located 300 m above sea level.
After the grapes are harvested, early September for the Merlot and late in the usual month for the Sangiovese, and carefully selected they are macerated on their skins, 15 days the Merlot and 12 the Sangiovese. After alcoholic fermentation, which takes place in steel containers, aging takes place in barriques for 12 months.
The end result is a wine of excellent quality and very intriguing, summing up the best characteristics of Merlot and Sangiovese, in fact it takes the intensity from the native wine while the delicacy from the French side. The nose is full and varied, with hints of red fruits and spices, the delicate mineral and persistent finish gives the extra touch to this wine.
Little curiosity: the wine, as its very name also says, was made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Falesco, founded in 1979 by Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella.
