Tellus Chardonnay 2022

The Chardonnay Tellus of the Cotarella family is a white wine produced in Northern Lazio not far from the river Tiber and Corbara Lake. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200 m and have a friable soil of volcanic origin. The vineyards are cultivated with high planting density and produce limited yields, so that the grapes are very favorable to the production of tasty and fragrant wines. This is in fact the ambition of Chardonnay Tellus: a simple wine, but not trivial, easy to drink, even with a fascinating personality. In fact it has the distinctive characteristics of Chardonnay: fruity flavors, intense and round taste, creamy texture; at the same time it is a light wine that meets the demands of modern consumers.

The harvest takes place in the first week of September. The grapes are left to cold macerate for 7-8 hours before being gently pressed. This operation favors the extraction of flavor compounds from the skins. The free-run must then ferments in stainless steel vats at a low temperature, so as to preserve the fragrance of the aromas. The wine ages on its lees for a few months in steel vats.
