Rosso delle Ripalte 2020
The red wine Rosso delle Ripalte has a certain charm, not only because it comes from vineyards overlooking the sea of the Elba Island, but also because it has a delicate and at the same time flavorful, supple taste on the palate with a refreshing finish thanks to a saline sensation. It is based on one of the most popular grape varieties in the upper Mediterranean: Grenache. Grenache, of Spanish origin, is widely spread throughout southern France, in Sardinia with the name of Cannonau, in Liguria as Granaccia and in Tuscany with the name of Alicante. As a grape it is late ripening and therefore is well suited to areas with a warm and sunny climate, in wines it gives generous fruity flavors and a tendentially soft and round taste. In addition to Alicante, the Rosso delle Ripalte blend also includes a small part of Carignano, another grape of Spanish origin, widespread in southern France and Sardinia.
The two grapes are harvested separately and vinified exclusively in steel. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. On the other hand, it is not aged in wood, so as to maintain the vivacity of the taste and the fragrance of the perfumes.
