Tenuta delle Ripalte

Tenuta delle Ripalte is a historic reality on the Elba island in the village of Capoliveri, founded at the end of the nineteenth century. For 20 years it has belonged to Pier Mario Meletti Cavallari, who replanted the vineyards and later in 2010 built a new wine cellar. Pier Mario Meletti Cavallari is famous above all for having been one of the noble fathers of modern Bolgheri wines with the Grattamacco winery. After the success of Bolgheri, Cavallari sold Grattamacco and moved to the Island of Elba, but did not retire, on the contrary he embarked on a new path, venturing into the production of completely different wines, including the Aleatico Passito dell'Elba.
The vineyards of Tenuta delle Ripalte have an ancient rocky soil of volcanic origin, they are also influenced by the winds and the light reflected on the sea. The production consists of a range of wines with typically Mediterranean grape varieties, made in a style suited to contemporary taste, in which finesse and elegance prevail over structure and power. This is possible thanks to the particular conditions of the environment and the winemaking choices of the producer. The vineyards of Tenuta delle Ripalte are a total of 16 hectares in organic conversion.
