Rosato Venus 2023
Conti Zecca’s rosé wine bears the name of the goddess of Love, and is produced in compliance with a historical tradition of rosé wines in Salento. Venus is produced with the prince of Salento vine varieties, Negroamaro, blended with other locally grown grapes. The vineyards extend in the municipality of Leverano on well-draining and deep calcareous soil of alluvial origin. This type of soil favors the finesse of the flavors more than the structure of the wine and is therefore congenial to the production of a rosé wine. The vineyard is managed in a modern way with vertical shoot positioning and high planting density.
Upon arrival in the cellar, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed. The grapes are left to macerate in contact with the skins for 12 hours. They are then drained and the free-run must ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. At the end, the wine rests in concrete tanks until bottling.
