Primitivo Torcicoda 2022

Torcicoda red wine is a 100% Primitivo produced by Tormaresca in its estate in Salento: Masseria Maime. Primitivo grapes ripen under the influence of the great brightness of Salento, its heat and the action of the winds that blow from two seas: the Ionian and the Adriatic. The grapes are harvested slightly overripe to give life to an extremely rich and fruity wine. Primitivo is a typical vine variety of Puglia and its wines are loved for the power, softness and intensity of the aroma and taste.

The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed and fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration on the skins for about 13 days. After racking, the wine is transferred to French and Hungarian oak barriques where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and then ages for 10 months. Aging continues for 6 months in the bottle.
