Merlot Quercegobbe 2019
Quercegobbe is a wine from the Tuscan coast made only from Merlot grapes, which prefer hilly areas and ventilated climates. The grapes used for this wine have found their perfect torroir in Suvereto, where the 'Quercegobbe' vineyard, which gives its name to this label, is located on the edge of the Mediterranean maquis overlooking the sea.
The vineyard was planted in 1997.
The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled truncated conical wooden vats. At the end of fermentation, the wine is matured in 600-litre barrels and second-passage barriques. During this period, the wine completes malolactic fermentation.
The wine is then bottled and left to mature in the bottle for 10 months before release.
