Lugana Le Creete 2022

The white wine "Le Creete" comes from the vineyard of the same name on the southern shore of Lake Garda where the soil is a block of white clay. The Lugana DOC appellation refers to white wines based on the Turbiana grape, a clone of Verdicchio, which is set in the Garda area and gives wines of character, with fruity aromas and a firm crisp taste. The grapes for this wine are deliberately harvested with low yields when fully ripe to have the maximum concentration and excellent flavor.

The harvest is manual and takes place in late September and early October. After a delicate pressing, the free-run must is clarified by natural cold decantation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly in steel vats without the skins at a low temperature. Subsequently the wine ages in steel vats in contact with the fine lees for about eight months.
