Irpinia Aglianico RediMore 2020
Redimore is the result of an important research work on Aglianico that enhances the grape variety and the specific territory of origin. Mastroberardino isolated two clones of Aglianico in his Mirabella Eclano estate from a centenary plant with no rootstock. The superior quality of these clones lies in the naturally low yields and in the production of loose clusters with thick skin and therefore less prone to botrytis. Mastroberardino has planted them in a new vienyard and Redimore wine is the result.
The vineyards extend over hills between 350 and 450 m above sea level and have deep, sandy soil with volcanic elements and calcareous clay in depth. Aglianico is planted only in the vineyards facing south.
The harvest takes place at the end of October. The grapes ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for one year in barrique.
