Crema di Limoncello Villa Massa
The only difference from the better known Limoncello is the addition of dairy cream, which makes the liqueur more delicate, soft and creamy on the palate. Limoncello is produced with Sorrento IGP lemons traditionally grown on terraces in the Sorrento peninsula. The favorable climate of the Gulf of Naples favors the quick ripening of these lemons and the plants can bear fruit up to 5 times a year. The lemons are harvested by hand. To make Limoncello, the peel rich in essential oils is extracted and cold macerated in alcohol. Then it is diluted with a syrup of water and sugar. Limoncello becomes Crema di Limoncello thanks to the addition of cream, which leads to a further lowering of the alcohol content.
