Limoncello Villa Massa
Villa Massa produces Limoncello with Sorrento IGP lemons, also known as Sorrento Oval Lemons. The plants are grown on terraces overlooking the Gulf of Naples and thanks to the warm and favorable climate they are able to flower and bear fruit 5 times a year. The harvest is strictly manual in order to take the lemons at the perfect moment of ripeness but before they fall to the ground and can be ruined.
All the operations are done with artisanal care and with the same homemade recipe that the Massa family has adopted since 1890. Only the thin lemon peel, the one rich in essential oils, is taken and cold macerated in alcohol. The infusion is then filtered several times to be perfectly clear and is diluted with a syrup of water and sugar up to an alcohol content of 30%.
