Collio Merlot 2019
Collio is above all famous for its white wines. However, the few reds that are produced are no less interesting. International grape varieties have been present in Friuli for a long time, because they were introduced during the Austrian domination. This Merlot is a full body flavorful red wine.
The harvest is manual. The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed. The must ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature with 15 days of maceration. Finally the wine ages for over a year in barrique.

Colour: deep ruby red.
perfume: plum, black cherry, blackcurrant, chocolate, vanilla.
Taste: pronounced, round, supple and long.
Suggestions
To be served in large glasses. It can be paired with aged cheeses or roasted meats. Try it also with a grilled cockerel.
Recommended with: roasts, meat sauce pasta.
Events
lunch/dinner with family, with friends, barbecues.
