Breganze Vespaiolo 2022 Maculan
"Vespaiolo" is the name of the wine produced from the Vespaiola grape, so called because it is loved by wasps (“vespe” in Italian) for its sweetness. Vespaiola is a little-known grape variety that is widespread only in the province of Vicenza in the Breganze area. Its most salient features are its floral and fruity aromas and its marked acidity. In the case of Breganze Vespaiolo di Maculan, the grapes come from hilly vineyards with tuffa soil of volcanic origin. This favors the finesse of the perfume and acidity to the taste.
After the harvest, the grapes are left to cold macerate for two days, after which they are pressed in the absence of oxygen, to maintain the fragrance of the aromas. The free-run must ferments at a low temperature in stainless steel vats. The wine ages for 4 months in steel vats before being bottled.
