The Maculan family is rooted in the province of Vicenza and is a point of reference for the Breganze appellation. Since 1947 three generations have succeeded at the helm of the winery, accumulating a specific knowledge of the territory and its potential.
The territory of Breganze extends over the hills between the Asiago plateau and the Venetian plain, between the villages of Thiene and Bassano del Grappa. The privileged position, protected by the mountains to the north, determines a mild microclimate favorable to the cultivation of vines and olives. The volcanic origin of the soil is another fundamental element behind the charm of these wines. In 40 hectares of vineyards, the Maculan family cultivates both local varieties, such as Vespaiola and Tai, and international varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay. It also makes use of the contribution of some trusted and faithful vintners.
The production is very complex, including wines of all types and colors, as well as extra virgin olive oil and grappa; but undoubtedly the name Maculan is linked to its sweet wines, true masterpieces, known and appreciated throughout Italy and abroad.
The cellar is located in the center of the village Breganze and the annual production is 600,000 bottles.
