Barolo Lecinquevigne 2019
Single vineyard Barolo is a recent phenomenon, which intrigues enthusiasts; but originally Barolo was made combining Nebbiolo from different areas with the precise aim of achieving a balanced and complex wine. Well, Damilano's Barolo Lecinquevigne is faithful to this tradition. It is made with grapes from the villages of Barolo, Verduno, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra and Novello.
Wine making begins with the fermentation of the grapes in steel vats at a controlled temperature. Maceration is prolonged for a few days keeping the the skin cap submerged in the wine. The wine finally ages for two years in small barrels.
