Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera 2018
Amarone Costasera comes from west-facing vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica. The west exposure in Valpolicella is considered important because it enjoys more hours of sunshine and is most affected by the influence of Lake Garda on the microclimate. It is the most representative Amarone of the Masi winery, produced in over 500,000 bottles a year with a drying and vinification process that Masi has studied in detail, to ensure that Amarone Costasera can be considered a true reference point for the denomination.
The grapes are left to dry for a long time until they lose 30-40% of their weight due to dehydration. The fermentation of these grapes is slower than the fermentation of fresh grapes. Finally, the wine ages for over 2 years in oak barrels.
