Onìris rosso 2021
Onìris red wine was conceived for a youthful and casual drink; it is a fruity and tasty wine with a light body, which can be drunk with without food and matches perfectly street food such as pizza or sandwiches. It is produced on the southern coast of central Sicily with traditional black grape varieties. The sandy soil of the vineyards in this area enhances the aromas and finesse in the wines more than body and strength. A steel wine making with short maceration was the choice of Duca di Salaparuta for this label produced for the first time in 2017.
The harvest is manual between the end of September and the first days of October when grapes are fully ripe. The de-stemmed grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration of only 5-8 days. The wine carries out malolactic fermentation too and stays in steel until bottling.
