Alto Adige Gewürztraminer 2022
It is an aromatic white wine, typical of South Tyrol, based on the local Gewürztraminer grape variety. It is a very old grape variety, considered indigenous in the province of Bolzano, in particular in the locality of Termeno (Tramin in German). Its best-known aspect is that of the perfume, in fact it develops penetrating notes of rose, tropical fruit and spices, which make it easily recognizable even to less experienced noses. Furthermore, the Gewürztraminer grapes ripen with a high sugar content and give generous and well-rounded wines, soft on the palate, so the wine can be also appreciated with or without food.
The grapes of Gewürztraminer in this case come from various plots in the villages of Cortaccia, Termeno, Caldaro and Appiano on the western bank of the Adige river. They are harvested by hand in mid-September and ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation and remains in steel until bottling.
