San Michele Appiano winery is a cooperative winery in the municipality of San Michele Appiano in the province of Bolzano. Thanks to the union of 340 contributing members, the winery can count on 380 hectares of vineyards on the sunny slopes of the Oltradige. Many of the vineyards are located at the foot of the Mendel massif between 400 and 700 m above sea level. Some vineyards reach up to 900 m, where Riesling and Müller-Thurgau are grown. They also have vineyards in the Bolzano basin and along the wine route, where they grow red grapes.
The production is based on a selective approach and separate vinifications. By identifying the best plots and the different characteristics of the harvested grapes, they are able to develop many labels divided into 5 different lines.
