Petrucci Melo 2016
We are located at about 525-541 metres above sea level in vineyards mainly composed of shale and clay: this is where Petrucci Melo, an amazing 100% Sangiovese wine, was born.
The grapes are harvested in small 15 kg crates by hand and carefully selected.
Thanks to the five-level structure of the cellar, the matter is moved by gravity, without the aid of pumps; this allows the grapes to arrive in the fermentation vats while maintaining their organoleptic characteristics and integrity.
Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in French oak vats. The grapes macerate on the skins for about 35 days. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine remains for 22-24 months. The wine is then bottled and left to mature in the bottle for 24 months before release.
