Jack Daniel’s

Jack Daniel (Jasper Newton Daniel) created his first Tennessee Whiskey in 1866 with the Charcoal Mellowing system. At the end of the distillation the Whiskey with 70% alcohol is poured through a layer of specially prepared maple wood charcoal. It is a percolation that takes a week, but which characterizes the Whiskey in a unique way, more than an aging in wooden barrels.
In 1904 Jack Daniel Old's Whiskey no. 7 wins a gold medal at the st. Louis World Exposition, in Missouri. It is the beginning of a great success.
The distillery will remain closed from 1919 to 1933, the years of prohibitionism and will see another difficult moment during World War II. In 1947 Frank Sinatra tasted Whiskey Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 in a New York club and fell in love with it. Today Jack Daniel's is a true American icon.
