The Frescobaldi Marquises have 8 estates in Tuscany dedicated to the production of wine and they also own Ornellaia-Masseto in Bolgheri and Tenuta Luce in Montalcino.
Their wines are exported all over the world and the Frescobaldi have entered into strategic partnerships such as the one with Robert Mondavi. In addition to wine, they produce quality extra virgin olive oil, such as Laudèmio.
If the Castiglioni estate in Montespertoli (FI) represents the beginning of their agricultural activity, they expanded in the XIX century with the estates of Remole, Nipozzano and Pomino in the Sieve valley east of Florence, where they produce successful wines such as Mormoreto, Nipozzano and the Pomino Doc wines. Today they also have Tenuta dell’Ammiraglia in Maremma (GR) and one of the largest wineries in Montalcino: Castelgioconodo. Recently they have also set foot in the Chianti Classico by acquiring and renovating the beautiful Tenuta Perano in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti (SI). Last but not least, they are also engaged in an ethical project in collaboration with the Gorgona Penalty Institute; the goal is the production of a wine by the prisoners on the island.
In all the estates, the Frescobaldis work with attention to eco-sustainability; have adopted lightweight glass bottles to reduce the CO2 impact due to glass production and transport; part of the energy used comes from renewable fronts.
