List of products by brand Chivas Brothers
Chivas Brothers
Chivas is one of the most famous Scotch Whisky brands, a must on the shelves of any café or liquor store. It was born thanks to the initiative of two Scottish brothers: James and John Chivas.
While still very young, they took over an emporium in the city of Aberdeen where they undertook to sell fine products from all over the world and among other things they sold whisky.
In 1843 they even became Queen Victoria's suppliers. To satisfy the taste of the most demanding customers, they tried to mix the whiskys stored in barrels in their warehouse. Thus, they began to understand the potential of blending and improved it to the point of becoming famous for it. Chivas Brothers Scotch Whisky quickly became a popular and sought-after product, positioned among luxury goods. At the start of the twentieth century, the Chivas brothers' 25-year-old Scotch Whisky conquered New York under the name of Chivas Regal.
The business stopped only due to Prohibition, but resumed with the same momentum in 1938 with the 12-year-old Blended Scotch Whisky Chivas Regal, whose fortune has reached the present day. In 1950 Chivas bought the Scottish distillery Strathisla which has since supplied most of the spirits used in blending. Since 2001 Chivas Regal belongs to the Pernod Ricard group.
