Bisol is one of the most historic and most renowned wineries of high quality Prosecco, that is Prosecco Superiore, which uses the DOCG. Since 2014 it has belonged to the Lunelli family, the owners of Ferrari sparkling wines, who have kept the name of the family that had founded it in the 16th century: Bisol. The name of the Bisol family as vintners appeared for the first time in a document of the Venetian Republic of 1542.
The production of Prosecco as we understand it today is already affirmed during the 19th century and from that moment on the Bisol have been very astute in the acquisition of vineyards in the most suitable locations of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, including Cartizze. The best vineyards are those on steep slopes, difficult to work and with the best exposures and constitute the real heritage of the Bisol winery. In addition to its own vineyards, the winery has always made use of selected and loyal contributors. Overall, Bisol produces 4.5 million bottles of Prosecco per year, divided among all the main types.
Bisol's style is precise, clean, elegant, aiming for the highest quality. The new ownership did not change this philosophy, on the contrary the Lunelli brothers invested in Bisol in the name of continuity and excellence.
