The Macallan 12 years Double Cask
Born in 2018, the 'Double cask' series is a great change for the Scottish distillery, it passes to an aging in ex-cherry barrels without going through barrels that have hosted bourbon.
Macallan 12 years old Double Cask is a single malt scotch whiskey aged for 12 years in a combination of European ex-sherry and American barrels, aging no longer includes ex-bourbon barrels.
It is a whiskey with intact and lively aromas that help to find great balance with the alcoholic part that evolves beautifully in the ex-sherry barrels.
A rich, slender and safe Highland whiskey where the sweet part of the sherry is barely hinted at.

Colour: light amber.
perfume: dried fruit, slight hints of apple, vanilla and orange peel, oak.
Taste: rich and slender, spice and dry fruit create an austere and full-bodied central part that gradually cleans itself in a gritty finish, without too many frills.
Suggestions
Classic whiskey glass and maybe a lit fireplace to be able to enjoy it to the fullest.
