Tellus Syrah 2020
Syrah Tellus comes from vineyards with sandy soil at an altitude of 300 m in Tuscia in the province of Viterbo, almost on the border with Umbria. The vineyard has a fairly high density of 5000 plants per hectare and the yields are quite low (70 quintals of grapes per hectare). This allows to produce quality wines. The sandy soil enhances the elegant character and the aromas of the wine more than the structure; therefore this Syrah is conceived as an easy to drink, supple, youthful wine; it is faithful to the potential of the Lazio region.
The grapes are harvested in the second week of September. They ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature in contact with the skins for 12 days. At the end, the wine is moved into barriques where the malolactic fermentation takes place and the wine ages in barrique for a few months before bottling.
