Villa Gresti 2020
Villa Gresti is an aristocratic wine, which enhances the proverbial richness and roundness of Merlot. The small percentage of Carmenère is the signature of Tenuta San Leonardo, that has been cultivating this Bordeaux variety for a century in Trentino. The wine has what it takes to be able to age for a long time; it is rich in fruity and spicy aromas.
The wine ferments in concrete tanks with no addition of selected yeasts for 15-18 days. Daily pumping over and délastage are performed. It is then aged for a year in new French oak barriques.
Features
Colour: deep garnet red.
perfume: many layers of flavors at the nose. Fruity, toasty and balsamic aromas well integrated with vanilla and sweet spices.
Taste: large volume on the palate with velvety tannins. The finish is savory and long.
Suggestions
Serve it in large wine glasses, possibly having opened the bottle even a couple of hours in advance. It can match perfectly aged cheeses, duck breast, jugged hare, or stuffed roasts.
Recommended with: roasts, hard cheese, noble poultry.
