Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona’s Rosso di Montalcino is a pefect expression of the energetic and structured character of the south-east side of Montalcino. It has an open and evolved nose from even thowy young, it is lively on the palate with an immediate approach boasting at the same time a remarkable structure. It is an excellent choice for enjoying the flavor of Montalcino with simplicity. The vineyards have an ancient soil rich in marl and are grown with the traditional Tuscan system of the spurred cordon and have been planted with a reproduction of the old clones of Sangiovese grosso, historically present on the Montalcino hill.
The grapes are de-stemmed and pressed. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks or steel vats with maceration on the skins. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages in large oak barrels for 8 months.
