Maremma Toscana Cabernet Poggio alle Nane 2019

Poggio alle Nane is a classy red wine, produced by Antinori in the Fattoria Le Mortelle in the Tuscan Maremma; it takes its name from a small knoll (“Poggio”) where ducks (“nane” in Tuscan dialect) are often seen strolling. Cabernet franc, Cabernet sauvignon and Carmenère have found a congenial habitat on the Fattoria delle Mortelle estate, located behind the coastline of Castiglion della Pescaia. Here the grapes of the French varieties ripen perfectly and at the same time retain that freshness that gives elegance to the wine.

The grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature, separately by variety. Then the wines are decanted into barriques where they carry out the malolactic fermentation and age for 16 months in the underground cellar.
