Oreno 2020
Oreno is a Bordeaux-inspired blend, coming from the best vineyards of the estate, located in San Giustino Valdarno in the municipality of Terranova Bracciolini (AR). Vineyard’s soil is rich in stones and pebbles and altitude is 250 m above sea level with southern exposure.
“Oreno is a small stream that flows within the estate, hence the wine’s name.
The harvest takes place between mid-September and mid-October and the three varieties are hand-picked and processed separately. Merlot is the first to ripen, then followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and finally the Petit verdot.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature and the skins remain in contact with the liquid in maceration for about 25 days with light punching down. The wines are placed in new French oak barriques where they undergo malolactic fermentation and where they age for 18 months. Only at the end of the wood aging the final blend is made and rests for a while in steel vats before bottling.
