Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Mazzamurello 2020 Bio
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Mazzamurello comes from an old vineyard of 2 hectares at 250 m above sea level cultivated with the traditional pergola system. Despite the low planting density, yields are kept low, also because the vines are now 50 years old. The cool climate due to the proximity of the Gran Sasso mountains maintains good acidity in the grapes, which allow this wine to be long-lived. Since its first vintages, Mazzamurello has enjoyed critical and consumer success. Torre dei Beati has been able to interpret the Montepulciano grape in a modern key while maintaining a strong personality.
The harvest is manual. The best grapes, selected on a sorting table, ferment in steel vats with natural yeasts. The wine ages 20 months in French oak barrels with bâtonnage on the fine lees.
